Hand carved beauty

On top of being a baker, my grandpa was a furniture builder who would hand carve and finish his pieces with ornate detailing and a smooth polish. I remember running my hands over his carvings and feeling the bumpy imperfect whittlings brought on by his aged hands, which incidentally made them perfect to me. These pieces from Herriott Grace are reminiscent of my grandpa's work, especially the maple bowl with black grain details. I especially appreciate the fact that each of these items are credited as being hand produced and thus have slight imperfections, the way a woodcrafter would have it
